Amphoe Pa Phayom ( Thai : อำเภอ ป่า พะยอม ) is the northernmost administrative district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in Phatthalung Province . The Phatthalung Province is located in the southern region of Thailand , about 840 km south of Bangkok on the Malay Peninsula .

Adjacent districts and areas (from the southeast clockwise) the Amphoe Khuan Khanun and Si Banphot in the province Phattalung, Amphoe Huai Yot the province Trang and Amphoe Cha-uat in Nakhon Si Thammarat .
history
Pa Phayom was initially set up as a subdistrict ( King Amphoe ) on January 19, 1990 , by separating four tambon from Amphoe Khuan Khanun . On September 7, 1995, Pa Phayom received full Amphoe status.

Local administration
There are two small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the county:
- Lan Khoi ( เทศบาล ตำบล ลาน ข่อย ) includes parts of the whole tambon Lan Khoi.
- Ban Phrao ( เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน พร้าว ) consists of the entire tambon Ban Phrao.
The two Tambon Pa Phayom and Ko Tao are each administered by a "Tambon Administration Organization" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
