Amphoe Yaha ( Thai : อำเภอ ยะหา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the west of the Yala Province . The province of Yala is located in the extreme south of the southern region of Thailand on the border with Malaysia.

Neighboring counties and areas are (clockwise from west): Amphoe Kabang in Yala Province, Amphoe Saba Yoi in Songkhla Province, and Amphoe Mueang Yala , Krong Pinang and Bannang Sata again in Yala. To the south is the state of Kedah of Malaysia .

history

In 1907 the area of today's Yaha District was separated from the city ( Mueang ) Yala and an amphoe was established from it.

There are two small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the county:

Yaha ( เทศบาล ตำบล ยะหา ) consists of parts of the Tambon Yaha.
Patae ( เทศบาล ตำบล ปะ แต ) consists of the whole tambon patae.

There are also six "Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( für บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO) for the tambon or the parts of tambon in the county that do not belong to any city.
