building

After more than ten years of searching for a location, the building of the Hamburg-Bergedorf District Court was finally built in 1926-27 based on plans by Fritz Schumacher . The three-wing complex is closed on the side open to the Bille by a lower, flat-roofed prison with two courtyards.

The mighty building complex, clad in clinker bricks, documents its purpose and the presence of the State of Hamburg in Bergedorf with the strict structure of the facade and the decorative geometric masonry .
