At the church is a district in the Bensberg district of Bergisch Gladbach .
history
The settlement name at the church takes up the old tub designation , which is noted in the original cadastre as the location of the church building including the surrounding area with residential buildings. The table sheet from 1827 still shows the old Bensberg village church, which was built in 1554 on the ridge facing west. The new church was built on this site from 1877 to 1883. The earliest Bensberg parish church is documented for the 12th century as the Count von Berg's own church . The St. Nicholas is first documented as from 1470 patron called.
