Anat Cohen ( Hebrew ענת כהן; * 1975 in Tel Aviv ) is an Israeli jazz musician (clarinet, soprano and tenor saxophone).

Cohen comes from a musical family; soprano saxophonist Yuval Cohen and trumpeter Avishai Cohen are her brothers. As a twelve-year-old she first played her father's clarinet; she was trained at the conservatory in her native city and began to play in a Dixieland band . During her time at junior high school, she also played in a classical chamber ensemble; at Thelma Yellin High School for the Arts , she then focused on jazz. During her military service she played as a tenor saxophonist in an army big band . In 1996 she began training at Berklee College of Music ; she also played Latin jazz .

After completing her studies, she moved to New York City in 1999 , where she performed with the Diva Jazz Orchestra and the Choro Ensemble, among others . She also played with Nancy Wilson , Dave Brubeck , Slide Hampton , Duduka da Fonseca and Diane Schuur . In 2005 she released her first album "Place and Time". With her brothers Yuval (soprano saxophone) and Avishai (trumpet) she plays in the band The 3 Cohens (CD “Braid” 2007). Along with Howard Alden , Esperanza Spalding and Jimmy Cobb , she is a member of George Wein's Newport All Stars .

Cohen has been named a leading young clarinetist in Down Beat several times (most recently in 2011) in the critics poll since 2012 and has been the leading clarinetist every year since 2012; since 2010 it has been the head of the annual reader poll for the same magazine. The Jazz Journalists Association named her “Coming Musician of the Year” for 2007 and four times up to 2010 and from 2013 as clarinetist of the year every year. In 2007 she was hired for a week at Village Vanguard ; as the first wind player ever. In 2008 she performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague and in Ludwigshafen am Rhein at the Enjoy Jazz Festival . At the end of 2019, her album Triple Helix was nominated for the 2020 Grammy Awards .
