Anatolij Tymofijowytsch Avdijewskyj ( Ukrainian Анатолій Тимофійович Авдієвський ; born August 16, 1933 in Fedwar , Ukrainian SSR ; † March 24, 2016 in Kiev , Ukraine ) was a Ukrainian choirmaster and composer.

Life

Anatolij Avdijewskyj was born in the village of Fedwar ( Федвар ), today Pidlisne in the Kirovohrad Oblast . From 1948 he graduated from the Odessa State Music School , which he graduated as a choir director in 1953. Between 1951 and 1958 he was a music and singing teacher and choir director in Odessa. From 1958 to 1963 he was the founder, artistic director and chief conductor of the Lonok singing and dance ensemble in Poliske and choir director at the music school in Zhytomyr , then he was artistic director and chief conductor of the Ukrainian folk choir in Cherkassy until 1966.

From 1966 Avdijewskyj was the artistic director and chief conductor of the National Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir (named after Hryhorij Werowka ) .

From 1972 to 1976 he taught choral conducting graduates at the Kiev Music Conservatory Peter Tchaikovsky . He also trained choir directors and conductors at the Kiev Cultural Institute between 1973 and 1980. From 1980 he was a lecturer, from 1986 professor and head of the chair for methods of music education, singing and choral conducting at the Pedagogical Institute in Kiev. From 2003 he was director of the Institute of Arts of the National Pedagogical University MP Drahomanow . He died in Kiev at the age of 82 and was buried there in the Baikowe cemetery .
