André Herrmann (born April 22, 1986 in Wittenberg ) is a German author , comedian and podcaster. He lives and works in Leipzig.

Life

Herrmann studied political science at the University of Leipzig . Since 2007 he has appeared in poetry slams and on reading stages . He won numerous German-language poetry slams.

Together with Julius Fischer , Herrmann formed the “Total Destruction Team”. The slam duo won the German-language poetry slam championship in the “Team” category in 2011 and 2012 and in October 2012 released the album Wir sind mal whack . After the joint appearances, the slam duo formed the Podcast Team Totale Zerredung, which is one of the most successful comedy podcasts on Spotify . New episodes are always published in the night from Wednesday to Thursday on all platforms.

Since 2008 Herrmann can be seen monthly at the Leipzig "Lesebühne Schkeuditzer Kreuz" and since 2014 also at the Berlin reading stage "Fuchs und Söhne". He has published texts in numerous anthologies. In March 2015 his comedy novel Klassenkampf was published by Voland & Quist . Change of location will follow in 2018 .

Herrmann wrote for numerous TV shows, sitcoms and comedy formats. For Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk , he was the head author of the television program Comedy with Karsten and [sla (m] dr). For ZDFneo he wrote several episodes of the sitcom "Nix Festes" by Markus Barth and was the head writer of the program HOMIES. He also designs comedy programs and is a gag author for Jan Böhmermann's Neo Magazin Royale on ZDF and Late Night Berlin with Klaas-Heufer Umlauf . At the soccer club RB Leipzig he has been the stadium spokesman for the youth teams since 2013.

Herrmann invented the term "Hypezig" ( neologism , combination of " Hype " and " Leipzig ") and collected articles in a blog that address the "Hypezig phenomenon". As a regular guest of the Comedy Roast Show by Tim Thoelke and roast formats such as the Comedy Central Roast Battle, Herrmann became known throughout Germany as a roaster. Every Wednesday he publishes a new episode of "Roast of the Week" on Youtube.
