Andrea Harder (born January 20, 1977 in Kassel ) is a former German national basketball player .

Club career

Harder started her basketball career at ACT Kassel, where she was born. In 1994 she moved to the subscription champion BTV Wuppertal in the 1st women's basketball league , with this she won the double ( German championship and German cup victory) four times and even reached the European Cup final with the club in 1996 and 1997 , which she won in 1996. For the 1998/1999 season, Harder moved to league competitor Assist Aschaffenburg, who in the fight for the title but always had the disadvantage of their former club. In 2001 she switched to TV Saarlouis and was named Germany's most valuable player ( MVP ) in the 2001/2002 season . In 2004 she tore a cruciate ligament and was out for most of the season. In 2005 she moved first to the Austrian first division club BC Powerbasket Wels and then back to Germany for BG Dorsten that season. In Dorsten she felt the same way as in Aschaffenburg . The team was eternally second and had to admit defeat to the Wasserburg women in the fight for the title . After a last club change to BG 74 Göttingen , Andrea Harder ended her Bundesliga career. Since 2011 she has been playing in the regional league for the CVJM Kassel.

National team

Andrea Harder started her national team career in 1994 with a close 68-69 defeat in a friendly against Holland. A week later she scored her first three points for the national team in the 96:58 victory in the friendly against Lithuania in Recklinghausen ; a further 935 points follow in a total of 161 missions. Harder was a member of the German European Championship teams in 1997, 1999 and 2005 and played in the 1998 World Championship . At the 1997 European Championship in Hungary she was third with Germany.
