Andrea Holzner (born August 24, 1964 in Waldkirchen , Germany ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). She has been the mayor of the municipality of Tarsdorf since 2014 and has been a member of the Federal Council delegated by the Upper Austrian state parliament since January 31, 2019 .

Life

Andrea Holzner attended secondary school in Ostermiething after primary school in Tarsdorf . After graduating from the upper secondary school of the Ursulines in Salzburg in 1982, she studied agricultural science at the Technical University of Munich . She graduated in 1988 with a degree in engineering . From 1992 she was a commercial clerk, since 1997 she has been working in the family's own carpentry shop. Holzner is married and has two sons.

Since 2003 she has been a member of the municipal council of the municipality of Tarsdorf in the Braunau am Inn district , where she was vice mayor from 2009 to 2014 and where she became mayor in 2014. In the 2017 National Council election , she ran in the Innviertel regional constituency for the Upper Austrian People's Party (OÖVP) as second behind August Wöginger .

Since January 31, 2019, she has been a member of the Federal Council delegated by the Upper Austrian Parliament. She succeeded Ferdinand Tiefnig , who moved to the state parliament. In the 2019 National Council election, she is running again behind ÖVP top candidate August Wöginger in the Innviertel regional constituency and on the eighth list position in the Upper Austrian constituency .
