Andrea Robbins

Andrea Robbins (* 1963 in Boston , Massachusetts , USA ) is an American photographer .

She studied until 1986 at the Cooper Union School of Art , New York , NY / BFA and then to 1986 at the Hunter College School of Art , New York, NY. She has been working with her husband, Max Becher, since 1986 .

Robbins and Becher photograph and film in Europe , North America , the Caribbean and Africa . Her work deals with “relocated” places and identities . They document the culture of emigrants or displaced persons who settle in distant countries and try to preserve something of their old homeland and their cultural roots.
