Andreas Jämtin (born May 4, 1983 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with the Sheffield Steelers from the Elite Ice Hockey League .
Career
Andreas Jämtin began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of AIK Solna . From there he moved to Färjestad BK , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Elitserien in the 2000/01 season . In his only mission he remained unpunished and punished. He was then selected in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft in the fifth round as a total of 157 players by the Detroit Red Wings , for which he never played. Instead, the winger returned to AIK Solna, with whom he was relegated to HockeyAllsvenskan in the 2001/02 season. He stayed in the second division for another year before joining the HV71 for the 2003/04 season. With the team from Jönköping he became Swedish champion straight away . The 2005/06 season began the left-shooter at TPS Turku in the Finnish SM-liiga . In January 2006, however, he returned to the HV71, with which he again won the Swedish championship title in the 2007/08 season .
In June 2008 Jämtin signed a contract with the New York Rangers , but initially he was only used for their farm teams , the Hartford Wolf Pack from the American Hockey League and the Charlotte Checkers from the ECHL , after which he was back in his in November 2008 Swedish homeland, where he was signed by Linköpings HC , for whom he played until 2012. In October 2012 he returned to the HV71, where he was awarded a three-year contract.
From July 2015 Jämtin was under contract with the KHL Medveščak Zagreb from the Continental Hockey League and scored 10 points in 55 KHL games. In August 2016 he returned to his home club Färjestad BK.
International
For Sweden , Jämtin took part in the junior division in the 2001 U18 World Junior Championships and the 2002 and 2003 U20 World Junior Championships . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the 2011 World Cup in Slovakia , where he and his team won the silver medal.
At the 2013 World Cup in Stockholm and Helsinki he was again part of the national team and won the gold medal with it.
