Andreas Korbmacher

Andreas Korbmacher (* 1960 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German lawyer and has been a judge at the Federal Administrative Court since 2008 , and since 2017 as chairman of the 7th Revision Senate of the Federal Administrative Court.

Career

Korbmacher, son of the lawyer Günter Korbmacher , graduated from the Lilienthal-Gymnasium in Berlin in 1978 .

After studying law and completing his legal clerkship , he passed the Second State Examination in Berlin in 1988 . He then began his judging career in Berlin. He initially worked at the Berlin Regional Court , the Tempelhof-Kreuzberg District Court and the Berlin Administrative Court . In 1990 he received his doctorate on the subject of basic questions of public home law . In 1991 Korbmacher was appointed judge at the Berlin Administrative Court. From there he was seconded as a research assistant to the Constitutional Court of the State of Berlin from September 1997 to the end of 2002 and then to the Senate Department for Justice , but was appointed presiding judge at the Berlin Administrative Court in March 2001. At the beginning of 2003 he became a judge at the Berlin Higher Administrative Court and in May 2005 he became the presiding judge at the Berlin Higher Administrative Court. Since the merger with the Higher Administrative Court for the State of Brandenburg , he was presiding judge at the Higher Administrative Court of Berlin-Brandenburg . He has been a judge at the Federal Administrative Court since November 6, 2008. He was assigned to the 9th revision senate of the court , which deals with road and right of way , the right to lay out railways, municipal tax law and land consolidation law. With effect from May 23, 2017, Korbmacher was appointed presiding judge at the Federal Administrative Court. In this function, he is the chairman of the 7th Revision Senate, which is responsible in particular for environmental protection law including immission control law, waste law, nuclear law, mining law, the law on the construction of waterways and the right to freedom of information. On May 22, 2019, Korbmacher was appointed Vice President of the Federal Administrative Court.

In addition to his judicial work, he has been one of the press spokespersons for the Federal Administrative Court since May 2016.

Andreas Korbmacher was co-author of books on public building law in the State of Berlin and is a contributor to a commentary on the Berlin constitution . Since May 31, 2007, he has been an honorary professor for building and planning law at the Technical University of Berlin .

Others

During his studies in 1980 Korbmacher became a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Borusso-Saxonia Berlin in the CV and from 1998 to 2010 chairman of the old gentry . Since 2012 he has held the same position at the KDStV Germania Leipzig in the CV. He is also a member of the Rotary Club and the Harmonie Society in Leipzig.
