Andreas Liebmann (born August 6, 1967 in Graz ) is an Austrian diplomat ; from 2008 to 2012 he was the Austrian ambassador to Colombia .

Life

Andreas Liebmann received his doctorate in 1993 from the Faculty of Law at the University of Graz . He is married and has a son and two daughters. Since 1985 he has been a member of the Catholic student union KÖHV Carolina Graz in the ÖCV .

Professional background

After working in the development cooperation section of the Austrian Federal Chancellery in 1994 , he moved to the development cooperation section of the Foreign Ministry in 1995 . From 1997 to 1999 he worked in the permanent representation of Austria to the European Union in Brussels , from 2000 to 2004 in the Foreign Ministry for the cabinet of Federal Minister Benita Ferrero-Waldner . From 2004 to 2008 he was envoy at the Austrian embassy in Moscow .

Since 2008, Andreas Liebmann has succeeded Hans-Peter Glanzer as the Austrian ambassador to Colombia with additional accreditation in Ecuador and Panama . He was recalled to Vienna in April 2012 due to the closure of the embassy (after the closure of the embassy in Bogotá , the Austrian embassy in Lima is responsible for Colombia).

Andreas Liebmann is currently the Austrian ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
