Graf Andreas Maria Renard (* 12. January 1795 , † 21st November 1874 in United Strehlitz , province of Silesia ) was a Silesian nobleman and Montan - entrepreneurs .

Andreas Maria von Renard came from the Catholic noble family Renard . His grandfather Johann Baptist von Renard was a Polish lieutenant general and received the Polish nobility in 1726 and confirmation as an imperial count in 1741. His parents were the large landowner Johann Baptist II and his wife the Comtesse Aloysia von Gashin , from the Upper Silesian nobility. Their parents were Armand Graf von Gaschin and Charlotte, née Freiin von Reiswitz. Charlotte's mother Margaretha Anna Josepha was a native Countess of Colonna and the daughter of Karl Leonard Samuel Count Colonna (1695–1752).

Renard inherited the important property in Poland , Austria and Prussia from his father in 1815 (e.g. Sielec Castle near Sosnowitz ), which he was able to supplement from an inheritance from his mother's side through the rule of Groß Strehlitz . On his significant estate, he mainly operated the construction and further development of industrial plants.

In 1853 Renard owned 22 small and large iron works as well as a wire works and was the second largest iron producer in Upper Silesia. In 1855 he founded the Silesian Hütten-, Forst- und Bergbaugesellschaft "Minerva" as a joint stock company based in Wroclaw , which took over all iron-producing businesses and extensive real estate from Renard. Until 1868 Renard was chairman of the board of directors of "Minerva", after which he was followed by his son Johannes Maria . 1849–1854 and 1859–1861 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives .
