Andreas Sönnichsen

Andreas Sönnichsen (* 1957 in Hamburg ) is a German scientist and general practitioner . Since 2019 he has been chairman of the German Network for Evidence-Based Medicine (DNEbM).

Life

Sönnichsen studied human medicine from 1979 to 1986 at the Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington , Illinois , and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , followed by clinical training at the Großhadern Clinic , Munich, the Gauting Central Hospital and the Weilheim Hospital from 1986 to 1997. 1986 Andreas Sönnichsen became Dr. med. PhD. He was recognized as a specialist in internal medicine in 1996 and as a specialist in general medicine in 2007. He has been a general practitioner since 1997. From 2004 to 2006 he also worked as a research assistant in the department for general medicine, preventive and rehabilitative medicine at the University of Marburg .

From 2006 to 2012 Andreas Sönnichsen was director of the Institute for General, Family and Preventive Medicine at Paracelsus Medical Private University , and from 2012 director of the Institute for General Medicine and Family Medicine at the University of Witten / Herdecke . In October 2018 he was appointed to the professorship for general medicine, head of the department for general and family medicine , center for public health at the Medical University of Vienna .

Andreas Sönnichsen is co-editor of the ZFA magazine for general medicine and member of the Austrian editorial team of the medicinal product letter .
