Andreas Wellano
Andreas Wellano (born November 21, 1948 in Basel ) is a German theater and film actor.
Life
Wellano was born to a German father and a French mother and the great-nephew of the comedian Liesl Karlstadt (real name: Elisabeth Wellano). He grew up in Alsace and later attended the Humboldt Gymnasium in Ulm . After graduating from high school in 1968, he completed an acting training in Munich. In the 1970s and 1980s he played in Frankfurt am Main at the Theater am Turm , after its closure at the Schlicksupp Theatertrupp and at theaters in Bonn, Bremen and Heidelberg.
Since 1989, Andreas Wellano and his partner Angelika Sieburg have been active as artistic director, actor and director at the Wu Wei Theater in Frankfurt, which they founded together.
Since May 2013 Wellano has been on tour as the actor of Karl May in the play Durchgeritten - Alles von Karl May .

Wellano played the godfather of death in the famous Sorry commercial for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class . It was speculated that he was selected for this role because of his resemblance to the VW supervisory board chairman Ferdinand Piëch .
