Initially, however, he stayed at the university as a study assistant. Between 1957 and 1959 Storz worked as a feature editor and theater critic for the Stuttgarter Zeitung . During this time, he also worked for radio and various magazines. In 1960, like many other "Stuttgart" talent, he went with Helmut Jedele to Bavaria Atelier GmbH in Munich . There he was a publishing author, editor and producer until 1974, and at times also head of the dramaturgy. He received numerous awards for his critical television plays. In 1974 he received a professorship for the subject "Theory of Theater" at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts . From 1976 until his death, Storz worked as a freelance writer and director.

Dominik Graf wrote the foreword to Storz's novel fragment When we were gangsters (from the estate) , published in 2012, and created the film documentation Avalanches of Memory .
