Andreas Wiegel (born July 21, 1991 in Paderborn ) is a German football player .

Career

Andreas Wiegel started playing soccer at SC Borchen in 1995 . In 2004 he joined the youth team at SC Paderborn 07 via a stopover at Fortuna Schlangen . In 2006 he moved to the youth department of FC Schalke 04 . There he won the Westphalia Cup in 2007 with the U-17 team.

On October 25, 2009, he came on for the first time in the second team when he was substituted on the 12th match day of the Regionalliga West in the game against SC Verl in the 66th minute for Albert Streit . In total, he came to six missions in the 2009/10 season. For the 2010/11 season he was firmly in the squad of the second team. In that season he made 15 appearances, but only played the full 90 minutes once. On June 25, 2011, he signed a professional contract with FC Schalke 04. However, he was still part of the second team's squad in the 2011/12 season. On December 14, 2011 Wiegel made his debut in professional football in the Europa League game at Maccabi Haifa , in which he scored the goal to make it 3-0.

In July 2012 Wiegel moved to the second division club FC Erzgebirge Aue . There he made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on August 3, 2012, when he came on for Fabian Müller in the 83rd minute of the game against FC St. Pauli . On December 9, 2012, on the 18th matchday, he scored his first goal for Aue and prepared another.

In September 2013 Wiegel extended his contract in Aue until 2015 and at the same time was loaned to the third division Rot-Weiß Erfurt until summer 2014 in order to collect match practice. After the season he received a one-year contract in Erfurt with an option for another season. With Erfurt he stayed in the promotion battle for a long period of time in the 2014/15 season before a significant slump occurred at the end of the season.

In summer 2015 he moved to MSV Duisburg , who had been promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . Wiegel only played a second division on the 6th matchday against FC St. Pauli and was relegated to the 3rd division again with MSV. As a third division champion in 2017 , he rose again to the 2nd Bundesliga with Duisburg. After the second relegation to the third division with the club, he did not extend his contract, which expired in June 2019, after more than 80 appearances for the club.

In mid-July 2019, he joined the Belgian first division Waasland-Beveren . His contract there was concluded for three years.

National team

Wiegel completed a game for the German U16 national team in 2006 .
