Albert Streit (* 28. March 1980 in Bucharest , Romania as Albert Ursachi ) is a former German football player romania German origin. The offensive midfielder , who was under contract with various Bundesliga clubs for several years , was most recently active for SC Fortuna Köln in the Regionalliga West .
Career and life
Streit was born as Albert Ursachi in 1980 in a Romanian-German family in Bucharest . His father is Romanian, his mother comes from the German minority in Romania. To escape the dictatorship under Nicolae Ceaușescu , the family emigrated to Germany and settled near Stuttgart . Streit spent his youth as a footballer in Stuttgart at FV Zuffenhausen until he was accepted into the youth department of VfB Stuttgart . After the middle ripe , he completed at Henninger-Brau a vocational training for industrial business .
His footballing role model is Stefan Effenberg .
Eintracht Frankfurt
In 1997, Streit moved to Eintracht Frankfurt at the age of 17 . After two years in the youth teams, he made four short appearances in the Bundesliga at the end of the 2000/01 season . Eintracht Frankfurt was relegated in the same season. In the following season in the 2nd Bundesliga he was more often in the starting eleven and later played a part in promotion to the Bundesliga for the 2002/03 season as a regular player .
VfL Wolfsburg, 1. FC Cologne and again Eintracht Frankfurt
Armed joined the season 2003/04 to VfL Wolfsburg . Due to difficulties getting used to it, he was loaned to Bundesliga competitor 1. FC Köln during the winter break , where he developed into a regular player. Together with the team, he was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga, while his loan contract had been extended by a year. For the 2004/05 season , the club managed direct promotion to the 1st Bundesliga.
After 1. FC Köln was relegated from the Bundesliga again the following season, Streit signed a three-year contract with the first division club Eintracht Frankfurt in May 2006 . During his second engagement in Frankfurt, he was now one of the team's top performers. Especially in set pieces, he was involved as a template provider in eleven goals in the 2006/07 season and scored four goals. In the 2006/07 season, Streit completed five games in the UEFA Cup for Eintracht and scored one goal.
FC Schalke 04
During the summer break of 2007, Streit announced his immediate move to FC Schalke 04 . Since Eintracht Frankfurt could not agree on a specific transfer fee with Schalke 04, this transfer was only implemented six months later, for the second half of the 2007/08 season. Streit signed a four-year contract with Schalke 04.
Suspension from the first team
As of January 2009, Streit was no longer part of the Schalke professional squad under coach Fred Rutten and trained with the second team.
On February 2, 2009, Streit moved to Hamburger SV on loan until the end of the 2008/09 season . A purchase option was not used, so that dispute was back in the Schalke squad from the 2009/10 season.
As of September 1, 2009, the new trainer Felix Magath released him from training due to a lack of willingness to perform. On September 3, Magath qualified the suspension; Streit was allowed to train and play with the amateurs until the winter break.
In his first game with the second team in the Regionalliga against Waldhof Mannheim , Streit was sometimes verbally abused by his own fans after he had announced that he wanted to "sit out" his contract. Since his contract with Schalke 04 was valid until 2012 and was endowed for the 1st Bundesliga, one year later Streit received, among other things, a bonus of 250,000 euros for reaching second place in the Bundesliga season 2009/10 and the associated qualification for Champions League 2010 without having played a game for the professional team.
In August 2011, Schalke 04's contract was terminated without notice. This was allegedly preceded by a refusal of Streit to behave in a team-friendly manner. He had previously received two warnings for previous behavior. Streits lawyer then announced an action for protection against dismissal . Thereupon, Streit and FC Schalke 04 reached an out-of-court agreement in November 2011 to terminate the employment relationship as of December 31, 2011 and to pay an additional severance payment by the club to Streit, the amount of which was agreed not to disclose.
Alemannia Aachen
On December 21, 2011, Streit was committed by Alemannia Aachen . He signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2012 and made his debut on February 4, 2012 under coach Friedhelm Funkel in the game against FC St. Pauli . Despite the relegation of Alemannia at the end of the 2011/12 season, Streit extended his contract term by two years. The contract with the insolvent soccer club was terminated on December 20, 2012 at the request of a dispute.
Viktoria Cologne
At the beginning of January 2013, Streit signed a contract with FC Viktoria Köln , he received a contract until 2014. Streit caused a sensation when he was excluded from the game against VfL Bochum's second team on March 16, 2013 at half-time with a red card has been. This was preceded by a physical attack against Fabian Götze in the player tunnel. A day later, FC Viktoria Köln suspended him. On April 4, 2013, he was banned for four months.
On August 20, 2013, Streit was released from training until further notice by trainer Claus-Dieter Wollitz for sporting reasons; his contract was terminated in January 2014.
Fortuna Cologne
In January 2014, Streit concluded a contract with the regional division SC Fortuna Köln until the end of the season . In February 2014, he suffered fourth-degree cartilage damage in a training duel. He refused an operation and officially ended his career.
National team
Streit was a member of the DFB perspective team in 2006 . It was used four times before the team was disbanded in November 2005. After Jürgen Klinsmann had not considered him for the German national team, according to the Kölner Express , Streit took on Romanian citizenship in order to play for Romania. This turned out to be impossible, however, because Streit was over 21 years old and had played games for the U-16 , U-17 and U-18 of the DFB. After a friendly match between the national team and England, which was won 2-1 in August 2007, he indirectly criticized national coach Joachim Loew in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung . He was not taken into account, although many regular players were canceled.
