Andrew David Joudrey (born July 15, 1984 in Bedford , Nova Scotia ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player (striker) who was most recently under contract with Adler Mannheim from the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
Joudrey was selected in the eighth round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft in 249th place by the Washington Capitals . There he could not establish himself and instead played from 2003 to 2007 for the University of Wisconsin in the WCHA , from where he moved to the Hershey Bears in the AHL in the 2006/2007 season. With these he won the Calder Cup twice (2009, 2010) and was team captain in his last season there.
On July 1, 2011, he signed a two-year contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets , where he played mainly for their partner team, the Springfield Falcons , and only played a single game with the Columbus Blue Jackets in the NHL . On July 23, 2013, he extended his contract with the Springfield Falcons for another year.
On June 19, 2014 he signed a one-year contract with Adler Mannheim in the DEL . In the 2014/15 season he reached first place in the table after the regular season with the Eagles and won the German championship in the subsequent play-offs .
For the 2017/18 season he did not receive a new contract with the Mannheimer Adlers and ended his active career. In July 2017, Joudrey became president of the Madison Capitals , a junior team in the United States Hockey League .
