Andrzej Kocyan (born October 27, 1937 - † August 16, 1972 ) is a former Polish ski jumper .

Career

Kocyan made his international debut in March 1956 at the Czech Marusarzówna Memorial in Zakopane . With a well-filled field of participants, he finished 29th. Two years later he was fifth in a starting list that was now less occupied. At the end of March 1958, Kocyan took part in a competition outside Poland for the first time and placed 20th in the "International Jump for the Challenge Cup of the" Volksstimme "Karl-Marx-Stadt" in Oberwiesenthal . In the Swiss Spring Tour in January 1961, he took 26th place in three of four competitions and ultimately finished the tour in 27th place with 768.4 points.

Kocyan started both 1961/62 and 1962/63 in the Four Hills Tournament . He achieved his best result from the Schattenbergschanze in Oberstdorf in 1961 with 34th place.

At the Polish championships in Zakopane in 1962 , Kocyan won the silver medal on the large hill behind Piotr Wala .

Personal

Andrzej is the older brother of Józef Kocyan . Andrzej committed suicide on August 16, 1972.
