Andy Houscheid

Andy Houscheid (born May 24, 1983 in Sankt Vith , Belgium ) is a Belgian pianist and singer / songwriter .

Life

Houscheid, who grew up in the St. Vither district of Neundorf , received lessons as a child. He began singing and playing the piano in ensembles and bands at the age of 13 . He studied at conservatories in Luxembourg , Leipzig and Brussels with Carlo Hommel , Diederik Wissels , Richie Beirach and Klaus Ignatzek . He completed his studies in 2009 with a master's degree in jazz piano with distinction.

During his student days he founded the Andy Houscheid Band , initially a classical jazz trio, later a quartet. The third album Talent was released on the Sturm und Klang label by Konstantin Wecker , who also sponsors Houscheid. The genres of rock , jazz and pop flow into one another in the album . Both with his band and as a solo pianist, Houscheid appeared and continues to appear primarily in East Belgium , Luxembourg and throughout the Rhineland and in East Germany .

Andy Houscheid lives in East Belgium and teaches jazz piano at the “École de musique du canton de Clervaux”, Luxembourg.
