Anetan is a district in the north of the island state of Nauru . It borders on Ewa in the west and Anabar in the east. It is 1.0 km² and is inhabited by 587 people.
Anetan means " mangrove " according to Paul Hambruch , which suggests that there were once extensive mangrove forests; the mangroves, however, like most tree landscapes, have disappeared due to the phosphate mining on the coast.
