Anete Kociņa (born May 2, 1995 in Limbaži ) is a Latvian javelin thrower .
Athletic career
Anete Kociņa made her first international appearance at the World Youth Championships in Donetsk in 2013, where she won the bronze medal with 54.26 meters. In 2014 she took part in the Junior World Championships in Eugene and was eliminated from the qualification there. In 2015 she won the silver medal at the U20 European Championships in Eskilstuna, Sweden . In 2017, she won the silver medal behind Olympic champion Sara Kolak from Croatia at the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz , where she improved her record to 64.47 meters. So she qualified for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated as 13th in the qualification . A few weeks later, she finished sixth at the World Student Games in Taipei .
In 2018, Kociņa took part in the European Championships in Berlin for the first time, but was eliminated there with 57.48 m in the qualification. Also at the World Championships in Doha the following year , 56.70 m was not enough for a final .
