Angel Riesco Carbajo

Angel Riesco Carbajo (born July 9, 1902 in Bercianos de Vidriales , Santibáñez de Vidriales , Zamora province ; † July 2, 1972 in La Bañeza , León ) was a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Pamplona y Tudela .

Life

Angel Riesco Carbajo received on 25 July 1926, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on February 15, 1958 auxiliary bishop in Pamplona y Tudela and titular bishop of Limisa . The Apostolic Nuncio in Spain, Archbishop Ildebrando Antoniutti , donated him episcopal ordination on May 11th of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Astorga , José Castelltort Subeyre , and the Bishop of Jaca , Ángel Hidalgo Ibáñez .

Angel Riesco Carbajo attended the first, third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a Council Father. On November 23, 1969, Pope Paul VI took his health-related resignation.

In the beatification process initiated for him in 1994 , Pope Francis awarded him the heroic degree of virtue on July 6, 2019 .
