Angels with Dirty Faces (German: Angels with dirty faces ) is the second studio album by the British girl group Sugababes . It was released on August 26, 2002 in the UK and September 16 of the same year in Germany. It is the first album of the second line-up, consisting of Keisha Buchanan , Mutya Buena and Heidi Range , as well as the first album under the new label Island Records . The album went triple platinum in the UK and remains the band's best-selling album to date.
Background information
During a promotional tour in Japan, founding member Siobhán Donaghy announced her departure from the band. The reason for this were internal disputes. She was replaced shortly afterwards by ex- Atomic Kitten member Heidi Range. Although the Sugababes were fired from their first label, London Records , they soon started writing new songs for their second album. A little later they signed a record deal with Island Records .
The second album received positive reviews from both fans and critics.

Four singles emerged from the album. Freak Like Me was released as a pre- single. This is a mashup of the song of the same name by Adina Howard (lyrics) as well as the track Are Friends Electric? by Gary Numan and Tubeway Army (melody). The song became the Sugababes' first number 1 single in the UK. It's also one of the band's best-selling singles and has been awarded silver in the UK. In Switzerland, Freak Like Me reached number 11, in Germany and Austria the title fell short of the top 20 with number 26 and 22 respectively.
The second single, Round Round , also reached number 1 on the British charts and was awarded silver there. The song is part of the soundtrack of the film The Guru . In Germany the piece reached 15th place, while in Austria and Switzerland it even reached the top 10 (8th and 4th respectively).
The third single was the double-A-side Stronger / Angels with Dirty Faces . It reached number 7 on the British charts, but was not as successful in other countries. The song only reached 38th place in Germany, 41st place in Austria and 23rd place in Switzerland.
The last single to be released was Shape , a partial cover of the song Shape of My Heart by Sting , which also contributed the backing vocals. In Great Britain the song reached number 11. In Germany the best position was number 39, in Austria number 50 and in Switzerland number 40.
