Anna Gourari

Anna Semjonovna Gourari ( Russian Анна Семёновна Гурарий ; born October 3, 1972 in Kazan , Tatarstan , Soviet Union ) is a concert pianist .

Life

Anna Gourari, daughter of Ludmila and Simon Gourari , received her first piano lessons at the age of five. In 1979 she gave her first public concert and attended a special music school in Kazan before she went to master classes in Moscow a. a. at Wera Gornostajewa in 1990 began studying at the Musikhochschule in Munich, u. a. with Ludwig Hoffmann and Gitti Pirner .

Anna Gourari won important piano competitions, including the Kabalewski Competition in Russia in 1986 and the Göttingen International Chopin Competition in 1990. Winning the 1st prize at the Clara Schumann Competition in Düsseldorf in 1994 marked her international breakthrough, which was followed by numerous appearances and recordings.

She played one of the leading roles in Werner Herzog's film Invincible . Moderation of six TV reports on art and culture in Moscow for Deutsche Welle. TV appearances and concert recordings.

So far more than 13 albums have been released. a. at ECM, Decca, Koch Classics. Most recently the ECM album Visions fugitives.

Lecturer in various master classes, a. a. in Germany, Italy, Austria, Japan.

Anna Gourari lives with her family in Munich.
