Anna Sharevich ( Russian Анна Вадимовна Шаревич , Belarusian Ганна Шарэвіч / Hanna Sharevich; born December 18, 1985 in Brest , Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic , Soviet Union ) is a Belarusian grandmaster of women in chess . She has been playing for the US Chess Federation since April 2014.

Life

Sharevich, who studies sports science and tourism at the Brest State University, learned to play chess at the age of five from her father, a doctor who has trained her ever since. She won four girls' championships in Belarus in the age categories U14 to U20. In 2002, 2005, 2007 and most recently in 2011 she won the women's championships in her country. After her success at the national championship, she was used for the first time in the women's national team at the 2002 Chess Olympiad and since then has played in all six Chess Olympiads for Belarus up to and including 2012 . In 2003 she was named International Women's Champion (WIM). All of them met the standards in 2003, namely at the Belarusian women's championship in Minsk , at a youth tournament in Serpukhov and at the European women's championship in Silivri . In 2006 she was awarded the title of Grand Master of Women (WGM), and she met the standards in 2005 at a WGM tournament in Saint Petersburg and at the 2006 Women's Chess Olympiad in Turin .

In February 2015, Anna Sharevich was in eighth place in the US women's ranking, and in the first half of 2009 she was at the top of the Belarusian women's ranking.

Chess clubs

In the German woman Bundesliga Anna Sharevich played in the 2004/05 season for SK Holsworthy , since 2006 she has been for the UPS Volksbank Halle active, with whom she in 2007 and 2010 , the German team championship could win and in the same years at the European Club Cup the Women participated. Sharevich also took part in this competition in 2006 with economist SGSEU Saratov (at that time she achieved the third-best result of the reserve players) and in 2008 with EPAM Systems Minsk . In addition to her sporting successes, the blonde chess player is one of the well-known faces not only in chess circles because of her attractive appearance - at the European Women's Championship in Dresden in 2004 she was named "Miss European Championship" by journalists - but also in her home country: there Sharevich was chosen in 2007 among the "Top 50 of the most beautiful and successful people in Minsk", also ranked 7th of the Королева спорта 2007 ("Queen of Sports 2007") and in 2008 she appeared in the Belarusian television show Две звезды ("2 Stars") ) together with the singer Sascha Nemo in a vocal duet.
