Anne Schwegmann-Fielding (* 1967 in Colchester , Essex ) is an English sculptor and mosaic artist whose works belong to the Pop Art genre . She has been creating works of art from recycled materials since the early 1990s .

Life

Anne Schwegmann-Fielding studied art at the University in Wolverhampton . In 1993 she set up her studio in Colchester ( Essex ). The British company specializes in converting old things into new using a wide variety of recycled materials. This is reflected in the transformation of objects such as old tools, equipment and vehicles into sculptures by applying broken dishes, broken glass and jewels to their surfaces. Most of her works are presented as art in public spaces .

In 2008 Schwegmann-Fielding received an “International Research Fellowship for Contemporary Crafts” and traveled to India, where she met and worked with Nek Chand in the Rock Garden of Chandigarh , India . Chand exerted a great influence on the future work of Schwegmann-Fielding. She has also worked for the television stations Channel 4 and BBC Television , the White Box in New York, and the London Zoo and Colchester Zoo, among others . In Germany, she took part in the art symposium in Kleinbreitenbach (1999, 2006, 2012, 2014) and the “Action Caution Art” in Meiningen (2011).

Her art objects can be seen in several schools, hospitals and parks in Essex in the form of wall mosaics and benches, in Meiningen Castle Elisabethenburg (sporadically), in the Museum of Braintree , in the " Kent History and Library Center" in Maidstone , in the Symington Building in Market Harborough , Writtle University College in Chelmsford and the Arts Reverie in Gujarat , India.

Anne Schwegmann-Fielding is a member of BAMM (The British Association for Modern Mosaic), the British association for modern mosaic.
