Anne Tracy Morgan (born July 25, 1873 in New York City , † January 29, 1952 in Mount Kisco , New York ) was an American millionaire heiress and philanthropist .

Life

Anne Tracy Morgan was the youngest daughter of four children of the entrepreneur and banker John Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) and his second wife Frances Louisa Tracy (1842-1924); and the sister of John Pierpont Morgan junior . She grew up in an affluent and sophisticated environment. Her father achieved a leading position in the international financial world and enabled his daughter to receive an education that was exceptional for the time. During her studies in Europe, Morgan visited the most important historical sites and art monuments and got to know several famous art collections and libraries.

Anne Tracy Morgan lived much of her life in France, and was highly decorated for their assistance during and after the First and Second World War in France. In August 1927, Morgan protested against the execution of the Italian emigrants Sacco and Vanzetti . Together with Ruth Hale , Dorothy Parker and John Dos Passos , she traveled to Boston to demonstrate against the death penalty.

Anne Tracy Morgan died in Mount Kisco from the effects of pneumonia and was in the cemetery Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford , Connecticut , buried. She remained unmarried throughout her life and had no offspring.

In the biopic Tesla (2020) with Ethan Hawke as Nikola Tesla , she was played by Eve Hewson .
