Annette Sergent

Annette Sergent (first marriage Sergent-Palluy , today Sergent-Petit ; born November 17, 1962 in Chambéry ) is a former French middle and long distance runner .

Life

She was French cross-country champion seven times (1985–1989, 1992, 1995). In addition, she won the national title over 1500 meters twice , five times over 3000 meters and once in the hall over 3000 meters.

She set numerous French records:

At the international level, she had her greatest successes at the World Cross Country Championships . In 1987 and 1989 she became world champion, in 1986 and 1988 she won bronze. With the team she won silver in 1987 and 1989 and bronze in 1986, 1988 and 1993.

On the track she won bronze over 10,000 meters at the 1990 European Championships in Split . She was a participant in the Olympic Games three times. In 1988 in Seoul she was twelfth over 3000 meters and 19th over 10,000 meters, in 1984 in Los Angeles she was eliminated in the advance over 3000 meters and in 1992 in Barcelona in the advance over 10,000 meters. At the World Championships she came in 1991 in Tokyo over 10,000 meters on 19th place, in 1987 in Rome and 1993 in Stuttgart she was eliminated in the preroll over 3000 meters.

The 1.57 m tall athlete, who weighs 47 kg at competition times, is now committed to promoting cross-country running among young people.
