Annika Weigel-Strebel (born December 3, 1987 in Worms ) from the Rheinhessen wine-growing region was elected the 63rd German Wine Queen on September 30, 2011, when she was still Annika Strebel in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse as the successor to Mandy Großgarten from the Ahr wine-growing region . Elisabeth Born ( Saale-Unstrut ) and Ramona Sturm ( Mosel ) stood by her side as wine princesses during her twelve-month tenure .

Father Reimund Strebel is a viticulture technician in his own winery in Wintersheim and mother Ingrid is housekeeping manager.

education

Annika Strebel first attended the Nikolaus Krämer elementary school (1994–1998) and the St. Katharinen high school in Oppenheim (1998–2005). She then completed an apprenticeship as a winemaker at the DLR Rheinhessen-Nahe-Hunsrück in Oppenheim until 2008 . She worked in some well-known wine-growing businesses such as the Schales winery in Flörsheim-Dalsheim , the Rappenhof winery in Alsheim and the Rebholz winery in Siebeldingen (Palatinate). In 2008 and 2009 she attended the Bad Kreuznach vocational school. Then she began studying viticulture and oenology at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences , Geisenheim department ( see alsoGeisenheim Research Institute ).

Time as a wine queen

From September 2010 to September 2011 she was the regional wine queen in Rheinhessen before she was able to stand for the election of the German wine queen.
