The Anomodontaceae are a moss - Family of the order Hypnales . The genera of this family (like Pterigynandraceae ) were formerly part of the Thuidiaceae family and were only recently separated from it.
description
They are small to medium-sized mosses with irregularly branched trunks and mostly curved branches. Leaves are usually ovate, pointedly pointed, serrated at the tip, with a single or rarely double vein. Leaf cells are isodiametric to rhomboid or short-rectangular. Sporophytes have a long seta with an upright, ovoid to cylindrical capsule.
