Anselmo Filippo Pecci

Anselmo Filippo Pecci OSB (born December 24, 1868 in Tramutola , † February 14, 1950 ) was an Italian religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Acerenza-Matera .

Life

Anselmo Filippo Pecci attended the school in Marsico Nuovo and the minor seminary of the Cava de 'Tirreni Abbey . Pecci received on 13 September 1891, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

After his ordination, Anselmo Filippo Pecci worked as parish vicar in Tramutola. Later Pecci became Chancellor of the Territorial Abbey of Cava de 'Tirreni. In 1895 he joined the Congregation of Benedictine in and put on 11 April 1896, the profession from. He continued his studies at the University of Naples Federico II , which he completed in July 1899. Then Pecci became a teacher of Latin and Greek at the Minor Seminary of the Abbey of Cava de 'Tirreni and prefect of studies and confessor for the novitiate .

On June 22, 1903, Pope Leo XIII appointed him . to the Bishop of Tricarico . The Archbishop of Benevento , Benedetto Bonazzi OSB, donated him episcopal ordination on June 28 of the same year in the abbey church of Cava de'Tirreni ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Manfredonia , Pasquale Gagliardi , and the Bishop of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi-Bisaccia , Giulio Tommasi .

On September 18, 1907, Pope Pius X appointed him Archbishop of Acerenza-Matera. Pope Pius XII accepted on April 10, 1945 the resignation put forward by Anselmo Filippo Pecci and appointed him titular Archbishop of Soteropolis .
