The Ansitz Kränzl , also known as Kränzel and Kränz (e) lhof , is an old winery and a protected monument in the municipality of Tscherms in South Tyrol .

history

In 1350 the Botsch bought the noble seat and lent it on as a fiefdom: from 1369 to the end of the 15th century to the Kränzler, in the late 16th century to the Gotzet von Augsburg , from 1600 to Andre Bergamaschg von Gmünd, and in 1621 to Hans Scheiter von Lebmannsegg and most recently to Hans Prugger von Hall , who was raised to the nobility in 1629 with the predicate "von Krenzl". The Botsch died out in 1637 and the Kränzlhof reverted to the Tyrolean sovereign . In 1647 the residence was sold to the barons of Stachlburg . When the last Stachlburger fell in the first Bergisel battle in 1809, the property was transferred to the snow castle. They were followed as owners by the Giovanelli and Kripp and finally the Counts von Pfeil who still own it today.

Viticulture

The residence has a very old winemaking tradition. Viticulture was the predominant source of income in Cermes 400 years ago. 2001 at Kränzlhof wine bills of the 16th century found that close economic relations between the Tschermser show area with the southern-German Swabian region. In particular, local wines were delivered to Füssen and Augsburg, whereby the Augsburg patrician families Linck and Gotzet were involved in the business operations and the transports were handled over the Fernpass .

description

The building in its current form dates from the early 17th century and has crenellated gables and windows with wrought iron bars. The property was once enclosed by walls, of which only the brick archway with the alliance coat of arms has survived . The inside area houses a corridor with barrel vaults and plaster ridges as well as a room with Renaissance paneling .
