Anthology of Russian secular a cappella choral music from the 19th to early 20th centuries
The anthology of Russian secular a cappella choral music from the 19th to the early 20th century ( Russian Антология русской светской хоровой музыки a cappella XIX - начала XX века Antologija Russkoi swetskoi chorowoi musyki a cappella XIX - natschala XX weka ., Scientific transliteration Antologija russkoj svetskoj chorovoj muzyki a cappella XIX - načala XX veka ; with English title: Anthology. The Russian Secular Choir Music a Cappella. XIX - early XX ) is a Russian publication that is a kind of textbook on the subject of the history of Russian choral musicand, according to the publisher, is aimed at students in the conducting and choir departments of conservatories, music schools and cultural universities. The series is edited by Elena Svetozarova, with contributions from NE Vasilyeva, ND Svetozarova, and TA Kitanina.
The anthology, which has been published since 2013, has 20 volumes, of which 18 have already been published (some of which are double volumes). Each edition is dedicated to the work of a single composer who played an important role in the creation and development of Russian choral music. The uniqueness of the publication lies in the fact that it contains all of the secular choral works by these composers, including those that have not been reprinted or published at all since before revolutionary times. Each edition begins with an introductory article that describes the characteristics of the composer's choral work. Taken together, these chronologically ordered essays form part of the course catalog on the history of Russian choral music . The edition ends with an appendix containing the complete poetic texts in their original form. The collection contains CDs with audio recordings of all choral works published therein. The recording was made by the Petersburg Chamber Choir under the direction of Nikolai Korniev. A publication of Russian secular a cappella choral music in this form and to this extent was carried out with this project for the first time.
It contains the a-cappella works of the following Russian composers: Alyabyev , Dargomyzhsky , Rubinstein , Rimsky-Korsakov , Cui , Tchaikovsky , Nápravník , Arensky , Ippolitow-Ivanov , Gretschaninow , Tcherepnin , Kjoneman , Anzew , Bulytschow , Kastalsky , Nikolski , Sakhnovsky and Kalinnikow .
