Career

Carter played at Saddleback Community College in Mission Viejo , California and then went to the University of Hawaii System . He was undrafted in 1996 and began his NBA career with the Miami Heat after playing a season with the Yakama Sun Kings.

In 2003, his agent overlooked a clause in his contract with the Miami Heat that would have given him a higher income. Instead, he moved to the San Antonio Spurs . After just five games, Carter had to end the 2003/04 season due to an injury.

After two moderate seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves (2004-2006), Carter moved to the Denver Nuggets in 2007 after starting his season with Legea Scafati.

On December 20, 2007, Carter pocketed a ball as a game winner against the Houston Rockets with 0.8 seconds remaining to the final score of 112: 111. In the NBA season 2007-2008 he reached a point average of 8 points per game, counted in almost all games for the starting lineup and reached 28 blocks throughout the season.

On July 1, 2008, Carter became a free agent and renewed his contract with the Denver Nuggets.

In February 2011, Carter was traded from Denver to the New York Knicks . There he played until the end of the season. For the 2011/12 season Carter received no new contract in New York and moved to the Toronto Raptors . On March 15, 2012, he was released by the Raptors.
