Scafati Basket is an Italian basketball club from Scafati . The club, founded in 1969 , played first-class in the Lega Basket Serie A from 2006 to 2008 . In the 2016/17 season they played in the second national division Serie A2 Gruppo Ovest .

history

In 1955 two basketball teams from Scafati came together to form Scafatese Basket , but it was not until 1969 that the actual Scafati Basket association was founded. After playing in the lower class for years, he was promoted to the fourth division, Serie B2, in 1995, and in 1998, to the third division, Serie B. Two years later, in 2000, they won the play-offs for promotion to the next division, Serie A2 . There you reached a seventh place among ten teams. Subsequently, the second highest division was released in 2001 as LegADue in the self-organization. There they mostly played in the top third of the table, but regularly failed in the play-offs for promotion to the top division, including in 2003 as second in the table and top-ranked team for the qualifying games for second promotion. 2006 you won then not only the League Cup this division, but also with the first place after the main round of the championship this league and the direct ascent right in the top flight Lega Basket Serie A .
