Anthony Joseph Burgess
Anthony Joseph Burgess (born July 29, 1938 in Singleton , † October 23, 2013 in Sydney ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Wewak .
Life
Anthony Joseph Burgess was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Hobart on July 23, 1967 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of Wewak on May 10, 2000 . The bishop of Wewak, Raymond Philip Kalisz SVD , ordained him on 27 September of the same year Bishop ; Co- consecrators were Austen Robin Crapp OFM , Bishop of Aitape , and Brian James Barnes OFM, Archbishop of Port Moresby .
After Raymond Philip Kalisz SVD retired , he succeeded him on August 14, 2002 as Bishop of Wewak. On September 20, 2013, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
