Austen Robin Crapp
Austen Robin Crapp OFM (born March 5, 1934 in Sydney ) is Bishop Emeritus of Aitape .
Life
Austen Robin Crapp joined the Congregation of the Franciscan at and received on 21 July 1959, the priestly ordination .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Aitape on April 19, 1999. He received his episcopal ordination on July 11th of the same year by the Archbishop of Madang , Benedict To Varpin ; Co- consecrators were Brian James Barnes OFM, Archbishop of Port Moresby , and Stephen Reichert OFMCap , Bishop of Mendi .
On March 5, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
