Antje Lenkeit

Antje Lenkeit (* 1953 in Düsseldorf ) is a German theater director .

Lenkeit completed an apprenticeship as a hairdresser and then volunteered from 1971 to 1975 in the make-up workshop of the Hamburger Schauspielhaus , where her parents were also employed. From 1976 to 1977 she was an intern and assistant director at the Schauspielhaus and then moved to the Schauspiel Frankfurt together with Wilfried Minks . From 1981 to 1982 she worked as an assistant director at the Schauspiel Köln , where she made her directorial debut with Edward Bonds Gerettet in 1982 in the locksmith 's shop .

She then went to the Munich Residenztheater as an assistant director . In 1984 she staged Carl Sternheim's Die Marquise von Arcis at the Theater in der Kreide in Neuperlach and Friedrich Schiller's Maria Stuart in 1986 , and in 1985 Fassbinder's Katzelmacher at the Marstall Theater . Other directorial work included Kroetz 's Not Fish Not Meat and Ibsen’s Nora (1987) in St. Gallen , his Die Frau vom Meer at the Zimmertheater Tübingen and Goethe’s Urfaust at the Konstanz Theater .

In the 1988/89 season she became a director at Theater Basel . There she directed Schiller's Die Räuber (1988) and Ibsens Hedda Gabler (1990), at the Volkstheater Vienna Friedrich Hebbels Judith (1991) and Schiller's Maria Stuart (1992), at the Kiel Theater by August Strindberg's Erik XIV (1993), at the Staatstheater Hanover premiered Dea Lohers Leviathan (1993), at the Konstanz Theater Warten auf Godot (1997) and the German première of Bonds Jacketts or The Secret Hand (1997) as well as Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet (1998) at the Saarbrücken State Theater .

In 2006 Lenkeit was engaged at the Ingolstadt Theater , where she made her debut with Lessing's Emilia Galotti . A later production there was Ibsen's Peer Gynt in 2007 .
