Antoine Ganyé

Antoine Ganyé (born June 28, 1938 in Sedjé ) is a Beninese clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Cotonou .

Life

The Archbishop of Cotonou , Bernardin Gantin , ordained him a priest on January 4, 1969 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Dassa-Zoumé on June 10, 1995 . He was ordained bishop by Cardinal Dean Bernardin Gantin on August 20 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Isidore de Souza , Archbishop of Cotonou, and Lucien Monsi-Agboka , Bishop of Abomey .

On August 21, 2010 he was received by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Archbishop of Cotonou and appointed to office on October 31 of the same year.

On June 25, 2016, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
