Roger Houngbédji OP (born May 14, 1963 in Porto-Novo , Benin ) is a Beninese religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Cotonou .

Life

Roger Houngbedji joined the religious order of the Dominicans at and received on 8 December 1992, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On June 25, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Cotonou. He was ordained episcopate on September 24th of the same year by the retired Archbishop of Dakar , Cardinal Théodore-Adrien Sarr . Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Benin, Archbishop Brian Udaigwe , and his predecessor Antoine Ganyé .
