Brian Udaigwe

Brian Udaigwe (born July 19, 1964 in Tiko , Cameroon ) is a Cameroonian Roman Catholic clergyman , archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Brian Udaigwe was ordained a priest on May 2, 1992 . He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See in 1994 and worked in the diplomatic missions in Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast, Haiti, Bulgaria, Thailand and Great Britain and as a Charge d'Affairs in the Apostolic Nunciature in London.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on February 22, 2013 Titular Archbishop of Suelli and Apostolic Nuncio . The episcopal ordination received his Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone on April 27 of that year. Co-consecrators were the cardinals Marc Ouellet and Fernando Filoni .

On April 8, 2013, Pope Francis appointed Udaigwe as Apostolic Nuncio in Benin . On July 16 of the same year he was also appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Togo . On June 13, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Sri Lanka .
