Anton Herport
Anton Herport (born January 15, 1646 , other date October 21 in Bern , † February 27, 1688 in Burgdorf ) was a Swiss Protestant clergyman.
Life
Anton Herport was the son of Signauer Landvogts Beat Herport (born January 5, 1604 in Bern; † February 1650 in Königsfelden ) and his wife Johanna (born January 4, 1616 in Bern), a daughter of Johannes Haller (1579–1649), Vogt in Landshut Castle in Utzenstorf ; his father later became court master in Königsfelden. He still had eight siblings, his older brother Albrecht Herport was later the chief bailiff in Biberstein .
He visited the Upper School in Bern and was a representative of four students, as Jakob Anton Vulpius (1625-1684) during a Solennität the piece Einfaltiges conversation between Eugemum, Lucianum, Martialem and his boy: What Eugenius by his cousin Luciano with Founding is moved to stay a few more years, and to adjust his Reyß to the high schools, but Martialis as a true infant, according to whom he can not talk the Eugemum with him, goes away with his boy, and goes to war was performed; he played Lucianus in the play .
After finishing school, he studied at the Bern University and heard lectures from David Albinus (1632–1700).
In 1672 he became pastor in Wangen an der Aare ; Due to his petition, the then bailiff Beat Fischer had the rectory in Wangen an der Aare renovated in 1684, which is still used as a rectory today. At the end of 1687 he became a pastor in Burgdorf, but died a few weeks after taking office.
Anton Herport was married to Katharina (born February 21, 1642 in Bern), daughter of Niklaus Willading (1620–1657), Vogt in Aarwangen and fortress engineer .
Writing
Anton Herport published the declaration of the Heidelberg Catechismi in 1678 , which appeared in new editions in 1689 and 1702. In this work he started from the Heidelberg Catechism by dividing its questions into further sub-questions and corresponding answers and adding many biblical evidence. He rejected the use of New High German and used a mixture of Bern German and written German .
