Antonio Doblas Santana , known as Toni Doblas , (born August 5, 1980 in Dos Hermanas ) is a Spanish football player .

Player career

Toni Doblas, who was born in a suburb of Seville , initially played for four years (from 1999 to 2003), mostly as a regular goalkeeper, for Real Betis B , the second team of the Sevillanos. In the 2003/04 season he was loaned to the Andalusian competitor and second division club Deportivo Xerez , but where he could not prevail. After only four appearances throughout the year, he returned to Betis as the third goalkeeper. Now he was a member of the first team.

Faster than expected - due to the injuries of Pedro Contreras and Toni Prats - he became the first choice in the Betis goal. On October 24, 2004 Doblas made his debut in a 2-0 win over Getafe FC . He was able to attract attention, especially in the Copa del Rey . In the semi-final second leg against Athletic Bilbao , he saved two penalties on penalties. He was also on the pitch in the final win against CA Osasuna . In the Champions League 2005/06 he was in five games for Real Betis between the posts. However, a few mistakes during the 2005/2006 season ensured that Pedro Contreras returned for a few games.

In the 2007/2008 season he shared the place in goal with the Portuguese Ricardo , but after the season his contract was not extended. Doblas joined Real Saragossa in the Segunda División , but rarely got past competitor Javier López Vallejo in the battle for number one . After only one year he moved to SD Huesca , which had just been promoted to the Segunda División. He returned to Zaragoza in summer 2010, but is only number two in goal behind Argentine Leo Franco .

For this reason, Doblas decided to try a second time in Xerez and was ultimately awarded to the local Club Deportivo Xerez for a year .

In February 2014 it was announced that Doblas is joining the SSC Napoli .
