Antonio Vacca

Antonio Vacca (born August 8, 1934 in Quartu Sant'Elena ) is former bishop of Alghero-Bosa .

Life

Antonio Vacca was ordained a priest on July 28, 1957 . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Alghero - Bosa on February 18, 1993 .

The Archbishop of Cagliari , Ottorino Pietro Alberti , consecrated him bishop on March 21 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Pier Giuliano Tiddia , Archbishop of Oristano , and Giovanni Cogoni , Bishop of Iglesias .

After the death of Archbishop Salvatore Isgró , Vacca was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Sassari on May 31, 2004 . Until the appointment of Archbishop Paolo Mario Virgilio Atzei on September 14th of the same year, he administered the archdiocese.

Pope Benedict XVI accepted his resignation on September 29, 2006.
