Salvatore Isgró

Salvatore Isgró (born October 21, 1930 in Baccialona Pizzaottu ; † May 2, 2004 ) was Archbishop of Sassari .

Life

Salvatore Isgró was ordained a priest on June 29, 1953 . Pope Paul VI appointed him on April 25, 1975 Bishop of Gravina e Irsina ( Montepeloso ) and Prelate of Altamura ed Acquaviva delle Fonti .

The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops , Cardinal Sebastiano Baggio , ordained him episcopal on June 21 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Sebastiano Fraghì , Archbishop of Oristano , and Giuseppe Bonfigioli , Archbishop of Cagliari .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Sassari on March 18, 1982 .
