Giovanni Cogoni

Giovanni Cogoni (born June 19, 1916 in Quartu Sant'Elena , Province of Cagliari , Sardinia ; † September 12, 2007 ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Iglesias .

Life

Giovanni Cogoni was ordained a priest on June 29, 1940 . Later he was first Regens of the seminary and subsequently Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Cagliari .

In 1970 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Iglesias . He received his episcopal ordination on October 18, 1970, the Archbishop of Cagliari, Cardinal Sebastiano Baggio ; Co- consecrators were Paolo Carta , Archbishop of Sassari, and Francesco Cogoni , Bishop of Ozieri.

In 1992 Pope John Paul II accepted Giovanni Cogoni's resignation.
