history

The current church building was built between 1752 and 1753 as an extension of an earlier chapel . In 1808 the church was expanded again, which was followed by renovations in 1868. In the course of this renovation, today's church tower was built. After the Second World War , the church was subjected to a restoration from 1949 to 1950 , which was directed by the architect Zawar (Homburg). In 1970 the forecourt and the stairs to the entrance portal were redesigned. The tower was restored in 1973 and the rest of the church from 1974 to 1978. In 1975 a new sacristy was built to the west.

Furnishing

The ensemble of altar, ambo with representation of the Sermon on the Mount , baptismal font and freely hanging cross with rose quartz and four evangelist symbols , which was created by Günter Zeuner between 1975 and 1980, is remarkable .

In the tower of the church there is an L-shaped steel belfry with three bronze bells hanging on straight steel yokes . The bells , cast in 1954 by the Otto bell foundry (Saarlouis), have clock hammers and are electrically driven.

organ

The organ of the church was built in 1985 by Yves Koenig ( Sarre-Union ). The instrument with a built-in play cabinet , which is set up on the side of the parapet of a gallery , has 14 registers , distributed over 2 manuals and pedal , as well as mechanical slide drawers . The housing is made of solid oak.
